The Blues take on the Dragons this Saturday, 6.30pm kick off, having won six of their last seven games against fellow Welsh regions.

Despite having won their last seven meetings against Newport Gwent Dragons, Cardiff Blues Director of Rugby David Young isn’t taking the Dragons challenge lightly. Speaking ahead of the match Young said,

“I’ve no doubt that Saturday’s match will again be very physical.”

“The tackle area is going to be contested very strongly and that’s an area we have to make sure we’re very good at because the Dragons look to slow the ball down and make sure you haven’t got any quick ball to play from.”

“That’s something we are aware of, so we have to be up for the physical battle that they will bring.”

Newport Gwent Dragons ended a three match losing sequence with their 23-11 victory over Glasgow Warriors at Rodney Parade on Sunday and commenting on the game Young added,

“The Dragons were very good, a real workman-like performance on Sunday against Glasgow.”

“They pretty much had the game won early on and it was a very professional display.”

“We know what to expect so we have to win that battle at the breakdown and when we get our opportunities we need to make sure we take them.”

The team to face the Dragons will be announced online at 12.00pm.

** It's 70's night at the match on Saturday 18 September, 6.30pm kick off, and the Blues are urging both sets of fans to get into the spirit of things and don their best 70's costumes for the evening, which promises to be another great event.

The Blues Supporters Quarter under the Canton Stand is open for an hour and a half before kick off every Blues home game, providing an area for supporters to congregate pre and post match.

The Taffy Apples will be performing classic covers from the 70's for the grown ups to enjoy, while Eco Theeeko, the magician, will also be returning to entertain the youngsters.
