Excellent refereeing by Mr Gerrard Fenlon allowed a fast flowing game with both sides playing open rugby in this DC Thomas Cup Under 11's match.
The Vale enjoyed the better start with good early pressure from the forwards culminating in a charge down by captain James Little with Owain Lord pouncing on the loose ball to score .Rhymney valley replied with excellent forward play particularly from Jason Baynton and only resilient tackling by the Vale stopped them scoring . The 2ND half saw Rhumney put consistent pressure on the vale with James Baynton and Garrin Jones leading their forwards with some strong running , however , good service from Owain Lord to James Whittingham allowed the outside half to relieve pressure with some fine out of hand kicking to touch .
Vale weathered the early storm with some fine runs by Harry Thomas , A good forward movement involving James Little, Harry Collier and Kieran Moroney released the Vale backs in a flowing movement with Lewis Morgan passing to Josh Thomas on the wing to cross the line , Harry Collier then added the conversion for a 12 .0 result.
