Ticket News Update

15th December 2006

The forthcoming weeks will see a number of big matches for the Cardiff Blues. For more information on ticket news for matches against the other three Welsh regions, Heineken Cup matches and EDF Energy Cup semi finals please click on the link.

Cardiff Blues v Ospreys & Scarlets

Cardiff Blues supporters have been busy Christmas shopping purchasing tickets for the Welsh derby matches against the Ospreys on Saturday the 23rd of December and Llanelli Scarlets on Monday the 1st of January.

Having done the double over the Ospreys last season the Blues will be looking to avenge the loss at the Liberty Stadium in September when the Swansea based side visit. Tickets are selling fast with less than 300 stand tickets left for the match. The Blues will also be taking on the Scarlets for the first time this season and tickets for the match against the Llanelli regional side are also selling well which should guarantee that the Arms Park will be packed over the festive period

Supporters are advised to purchase their tickets as early as possible as last season’s Christmas game against the Dragons was a sell out. Tickets can be purchased by calling 029 2030 2030 or buy online at

Newport Gwent Dragons v Cardiff Blues

Tickets for The Dragons derby game against the Blues are flying out of Rodney Parade. Supporters are strongly advised to get their tickets for the game on Wednesday 27th December before the day as the sold out signs are expected to be up at Rodney Parade well before the match.

The game has seen the highest number of on-line orders for a fixture with the ticket office staff being inundated. No Hazell Stand tickets are available to buy on-line and with less than 100 seats left in the main stand supporters who wish to be seated for the match are advised to contact the ticket office immediately on (01633) 674990.

Dragons Ticket Office Manager Jon Hall said, “Tickets for our derby match against the Blues have been selling at a phenomenal rate, on-line orders have been coming in thick and fast while the phone has been ringing constantly. We are expecting a very busy week next week as this will be one of the last opportunities for people to come in and purchase tickets. We strongly advise those who want to come to the game to get their tickets soon rather than later and with the Christmas post we would stress to they come and collect their tickets to ensure they get them but to collect them before match day as large queues are expected on the 27th

The Rodney Parade ticket office will close at 1pm on Saturday 23rd December and open again 9am on Wednesday 27th December. The match will see The Dragons take to the field in orange jerseys in support of the MS Society Cymru. Only 40 of these jerseys have been specially made for the game and the shirts which will be signed by the Dragons 22 who feature against the Blues will be auctioned off after the game. Supporters can also purchase raffle tickets to try and win a shirt with more information on how to purchase tickets being unveiled next week.
