Josh Adams insists Wales still have room to improve ahead of their trip to Dublin, despite securing maximum points on the opening weekend of Guinness Six Nations action.
It was a perfect start for Wayne Pivac’s side as they crossed for five tries to secure a 42-0 win over Italy.
Three of those tries came from live wire Adams, who continues his fine form in both regional and international colours, having finished the Rugby World Cup as top try scorer earlier this season.
The next challenge for Wales is a trip to Dublin on Saturday to face Andy Farrell’s men, who sealed a narrow win over Scotland last weekend.
Adams believes his side can take confidence from the win over Italy but insists they will not get carried away with four games remaining.
“We want to play an open game and we managed to get the ball wide and into space out there,” said the Cardiff Blues wing.
“The boys did well but there’s still plenty to work on ahead of next week’s game.
“But we’re happy with the way we’ve started the Championship.
“Sometimes, when we were in possession, we were a little bit slow getting into the shape that we wanted.
“We can also be a bit better in the contact area, because Italy managed to get into position to win turnovers a couple of times.
“Those are some of things we can work on ahead of the trip to Dublin.”
