Season Membership sales soar

First Team News | 7th May 2019

Cardiff Blues’ faithful have thrown their weight behind the region with more than 2,000 season memberships already sold for the 2019-20 campaign.

With Wales duo Josh Adams and Hallam Amos joining Wales’ Capital Region and numerous key players, including Josh Navidi, Jarrod Evans and Tomos Williams, penning new deals, excitement is building.

Almost 1,000 memberships were purchased last week alone, as existing members took advantage of their exclusive renewals window.

Sales have continued to soar and are tracking ahead of last season, when supporters rushed to renew to secure a discounted European Challenge Cup semi-final ticket.

Mike Brown, head of communications and marketing, said: “We have been hugely encouraged by the rate of sales ahead of the 2019-20 season. It is testament to the loyalty and commitment of our supporters, who have been besides us throughout this season.

“We have played some sensational rugby and while it was disappointing not to reach the Guinness PRO14 play-offs, all the signs for the future are encouraging.

“Our supporters have really bought into that and by coming to Cardiff Arms Park, you are guaranteed an electric atmosphere and an exciting brand of attacking rugby.

“To be ahead of last year’s sales curve, when also we had a home European semi-final, is a great start and we look forward to growing our core support at the Arms Park.”

Contrary to reports in the media, attendances at the iconic Arms Park grew during the 2018-19 season. 92,664 came through the turnstiles, for PRO14 and European games, in 2017-18 (including the Pau semi-final), while 94,038 attended this season. Season Memberships were also higher than the previous campaign.
