Robinson returns to Cardiff Blues early

19th December 2017

Cardiff Blues are delighted to confirm Olly Robinson will return to the region with immediate effect.

The openside flanker last week agreed a long-term contract after impressing while on loan as injury-cover from Bristol.

That was due to start in the summer but an early release has now been secured and Robinson will be available for the Boxing Day derby against the Dragons.

Cardiff Blues head coach Danny Wilson said: “Olly was outstanding while on loan and was the out-and-out seven we needed with the injuries we had.

“He suits the way we play and is superb on both sides of the ball. Not only that but he is a quality professional.

“With Sam Warburton out for the season, Ellis Jenkins only on his way back and Josh Navidi likely to retain his Wales place, Olly gives us that genuine open-side option throughout the season.”

Cardiff Blues are next in action at Cardiff Arms Park against the Scarlets on Sunday, December 31. Limited tickets are still available and can by purchased by clicking here.
