19th September 2004

Cardiff Blues' full-back Rhys Williams has received a precautionary X-ray after being stretchered off the field in yesterday's match against the Ospreys.

Williams was injured in the 34th minute after an accidental bang on the head in a tackle. After several minutes delay, he was taken off and then transferred to hospital for furtherr examination of his neck and shoulder. As he had full movement of his legs and arms there was no cause for undue concern. The results of the x-ray should be known later today or early Monday.

Another casualty in the Blues' 3-39 defeat is flanker Mark Lewis who has a suspected broken finger in his left hand.
