Recruiting for Safety Stewards at Cardiff Arms Park

7th June 2013

Do you want to be part of the safety management at the famous Cardiff Arms Park?

Cardiff RFC Limited is currently looking to recruit Safety Stewards to become part of our Safety Management Team on match days. You will be working as part of an enthusiastic team that helps to keep the event safe and also deliver an excellent customer experience for our spectators.

Role Responsibility:
As a Safety Steward you will be helping in all manner of ways including, but not limited to:
  • Ticket checking
  •    Directing spectators to specific areas
  •   Crowd safety duties
  •  Hospitality stewarding
  •    Car park duties
  •   Providing general help and guidance to spectators

This is what one of our new starters in 2012 said at the end of the season;

“I started stewarding at the Arms Park when the Blues moved back in 2012. The best part of the job for me is the other people that I get to work with, and of course the spectators. You get to recognise people who attend every game and they appreciate the welcome and goodbye, especially on a cold rainy night. I’m still learning all that’s involved but already looking forward to the first game of the season; August can’t come quick enough!” Emilia

Our Safety Stewards provide a visible reminder that safety is our number one priority for all spectators and support staff at an event.

The rugby season starts on 1st September and runs through to the end of May. However we already have some games pencilled in for the end of August.

Our Ideal Candidate:
You must be at least 18 years old and ideally you will have previous stewarding or customer care experience, however this is not essential as training will be provided. Good verbal communication skills and a common sense approach are essential. An aptitude to working with the public, a friendly, approachable and professional manner are all important but, above all, flexibility is key.
