Cardiff Blues have confirmed that Sam Hobbs will leave the region to join Newport Gwent Dragons from next season.
Front row Hobbs has played 126 games for the region since his debut in 2009 against Edinburgh and will leave with the best wishes of everyone at Cardiff Blues.
Head Coach Danny Wilson said: “With Gethin Jenkin’s re-signing, Rhys Gill joining us from Saracens and a series of young looseheads coming through the ranks and pathway system we have had to look at the make-up of the squad going forward.
“We thank Sam for his performances for Cardiff Blues and he will leave with our best wishes for the future when he departs the region.”
