Coach Paul John has hailed the 'outstanding' form of front row legend Gethin Jenkins - and dubbed the Wales prop an 'inspiration' to the squad at Cardiff Blues.
Jenkins recently brought up his 150th appearance for Blues and is set to return to action this weekend as the European pool stages reach an exciting climax with an away trip to Grenoble.
Coach John believes the Llantwit Fardre-born is playing some of the best rugby of his career with a series of outstanding displays for Blues.
“Gethin has been outstanding. Not just now but also at the end of last season when he came back into the squad he was superb,” he said.
“For a guy who had done all he has in rugby, to show that commitment and the amount of tackles and rucks he was involved in against Leinster was incredible.
“He really is an example to all of us and he demands high standards off all his team-mates. He is great to have in this environment and against Leinster he showed he just keeps on doing it.
“It makes a massive difference to everyone when Gethin plays at that level - he is an inspiration” added John.
“He is a good leader by deed and by what he says as well. It’s great to see him in such good form for Cardiff Blues.”
