Open afternoon for Education Programme

18th August 2015

Are you waiting to collect your exam results? Fancy a career in sports? Then the Cardiff Blues Rugby Education Programme is for you!

Cardiff Blues are hosting an open afternoon this Friday, August 21 at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park to give prospective students and parents the chance to discover more about our new and exciting rugby education programme.

The Cardiff Blues Rugby Education Programme is for Students that will be either entering, or wanting to re-sit Year 12 in September.

It entails a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport; equivalent to 3 A-Levels, and a Technical Rugby Programme; 8 hours a week of practical rugby coaching delivery, coach education and mentoring, thus enabling students to relate what they are learning through the course to real life practical situations.

The programme also gives students an exclusive opportunity to gain valuable work based learning experience through the Cardiff Blues Community Programme. Students will also play in a 10-a-side intra-regional games competition on a regular basis, all whilst gaining qualifications for University.

The course will provide many positive opportunities and pathways for students to ensure maximum engagement and achievement for students. We aim for the Cardiff Blues brand to engage, retain and ultimately progress all the participants involved in the programme, and offer the opportunity for students to gain a career in the sports industry.

Pop down to the Martyn Williams Pack Bar at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park this Friday, 21 August 1pm-3pm and find out more about the course.

If you would like some more information, please contact Liam Scott, Senior Community Rugby Officer, on [email protected] or by calling 02920 302051.
