No reason to panic despite England defeat insists Navidi

Josh Navidi insists Wales can take positives from Twickenham, despite a 33-30 defeat at the hands of Eddie Jones’ England side.

The Cardiff Blues star made an impressive return from injury, playing a key role in Justin Tipuric’s try after the break, but his display was not enough to clinch the win for Wayne Pivac’s side.

The defeat leaves Wales in fifth place, following three consecutive losses, and they will host Scotland on Saturday at the Welsh capital.

Navidi says there is no reason to panic as the squad get accustomed to the new systems in place under the refreshed coaching team.

“We can take some positives, but we have to look back at it and put the wrongs right ready for Scotland next Saturday,” said Navidi, who recently penned a four year deal with Cardiff Blues.

We are not in a bad place. We are still building, the boys are still getting used to the systems.

“Going into the changing rooms (at half-time) we knew it was a big deficit, but you never think you are out of the game.

“We are not in a bad place. We are still building, the boys are still getting used to the systems. It was just the first half let us down.

“We can take some positives from that game and just keep moving forward.

“It’s obviously a new (coaching) regime and hopefully we can just keep building.”
