Helping Fans Kick Travel Hassle in to Touch on International Days
A new rugby train has been launched, meaning Welsh rugby fans will be able to travel to Twickenham more easily and enjoyably for the England v Wales 6-Nations clash on 6th February.
The new service, called ‘Big Match Direct’, will take rugby supporters direct from Cardiff Central to Hounslow Station, a 10-minute walk from Twickenham stadium. This not only means fans will reach the game an hour faster than going by usual methods but they no longer have to go via central London or change trains.
The train will be equipped with a trolley service in each carriage and musicians and ex-Welsh international rugby players will provide pre and post-match entertainment for travelling fans.
David Weatherly, ex-Swansea rugby players and Director of Bid Match Direct, said,
‘There is no existing service available for rugby fans so we saw an opportunity to make travelling on rugby day an enjoyable experience. We hope rugby fans from across South Wales will join us for a great day out to watch Wales take on their arch enemies’

Tickets are no more expensive than travelling on the standard services, costing £76 return, to include a tabled seat. Corporate tickets are also available at £158+VAT to include a champagne reception, complimentary bar and meals served on both legs of the journey.
