Navidi calls for crowd to get behind Cardiff Blues

19th September 2018

Josh Navidi has called on the Arms Park faithful to get behind Cardiff Blues as they look to kick-start their season against Munster on Friday night (7.35pm).

Following three gut-wrenching defeats at the death, Wales’ Capital Region will be determined to bounce back as they return to home soil.

The challenge gets no easier against Munster but Navidi is relishing the challenge and hopes to see another bumper crowd at the Arms Park.

He said: “It hasn’t been the start to the season that we wanted but a home game after two games in Italy, it’s all about being positive, putting it behind us, learning from the mistakes and putting it right.

“The last three games have slipped away in the last five minutes. It has come down to little things, which we have to put right and hopefully at home we can turn Munster over.

“Sitting in the stands during that Leinster game it was phenomenal – the amount of support we had and the noise they made – hopefully everyone can come down again and deliver the same emotion and reaction.

“In all those little breaks in play, you really hear the crowd and it drives you on.”

Munster have kicked off their season with two wins from three games, including a 49-13 demolition of the Ospreys.

Navidi expects a typically physical challenge but knows Cardiff Blues must set the pace and fight fire with fire.

He added: “They have a good pack, a good backline and are just a quality outfit. It will be a tough game, we know they are physical and we just need to front up, take it to them and be the team that does not take a backwards step.”

Cardiff Blues take on Munster at Cardiff Arms Park on Friday, September 21 (7.35pm). Tickets are available now and can be purchased by clicking here or calling 029 20 302030.
