In the remainder of the school holidays further camps will be held at Pontyclun, Gwernyfed and Cardiff.

Rugby officer, Dan Jenkins, has been delighted with the attendances over the past year and insists support towards Cardiff Blues has been shown throughout the region.

“It’s been a fantastic year for the Cardiff Blues kids camps and it’s been great to see the attendances continue to grow,” said Jenkins.

“The camps are run by our rugby officers, who help each youngster develop a number of aspects of their game, while also ensuring that the fun element is kept.

“The feedback from children and parents has been extremely positive, and that is backed up by the numbers who turn up during every summer holiday.

“It’s also been great to be able to welcome a number of the Cardiff Blues stars who visit each camp, which gives the children an opportunity to rub shoulders with their heroes.

“We’ve found that the participation levels have been high at every camp and it’s we’ve been able to see, at first hand, that youngsters all across the region and the support and affinity towards Cardiff Blues.”

Cardiff Blues have also recently announced their first ever girls camp, which will be held on September 1, at Cardiff Arms Park.

Jenkins is excited by the opportunities to hold alternative sessions, such as the girls camp and player’s masterclass.

“We will be holding the region’s first ever girls camp at Cardiff Arms Park. I feel like there has definitely been a big rise in participation and interest in women and girls rugby, and it is exciting to be able to hold this camp, especially during the year of the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland.

“We will also be relaunching the player’s masterclass sessions to coincide with the start of the season, and are looking forward to unveiling those details shortly.”
