Lee-Lo fit and available for Munster showdown

First Team News | 28th October 2019

Rey Lee-Lo is back at Cardiff Arms Park and hoping to be involved in Saturday’s Guinness PRO14 clash with Munster (7.35pm).

The centre, who has established himself has one of the most consistent performers in the Cardiff Blues squad, missed the opening weeks of the season due to his involvement in Samoa’s Rugby World Cup.

The global showpiece did not go as Lee-Lo has intended after he was suspended for a high-tackle in the first game of the Islanders’ campaign but now he is relishing the opportunity to get back out on his regular stomping ground.

He said: “The World Cup was a great experience. Obviously, I was disappointed with my suspension and we didn’t get the results we wanted but to represent my country is always a massive honour and to play at a second World Cup is something I am proud of.

“But I’m delighted to be back at Cardiff Blues and at home with my family now. We are really settled here and now I’m just looking forward to getting back in the swing of things with the Blues.

“I had some time off following the group stages and visited family in New Zealand before coming back into training last week. I feel fit and fresh and I’m determined to do all I can to help the team.

“We’ve had some tough results in recent weeks, and we need a reaction this weekend against Munster, who are going to be a really big test.

“They had a good win against the Ospreys, are at the top of our conference and could have some of their Ireland players back so we know what is coming.

“But we love playing here at the Arms Park, in front of our home fans and for myself it is great to be back.”
