Kick-start the New Year with a new and healthy lifestyle!

9th January 2006

Do you want to make a resolution this New Year? Why not work towards getting a healthy body and a healthy mind?

‘Health on Tour’ is a series of fun and informative activities taking place across the Vale of Glamorgan over the next few weeks. Organised by the Vale Adult Learners Network, ‘Health on Tour’ will provide tips and ideas on how to start a healthy lifestyle or just have some health related fun. There will be FREE activities taking place at the events, which may be in a place near you.

Jamie Lane, Active for Life Co-ordinator in the Vale of Glamorgan, and Health and Fitness students from Barry College, will be offering FREE fitness testing, where you can have your fitness and health analysed. Have your blood pressure taken, a body fat test and your height and weight measured, along with exercise and healthy eating advice personalised to you.

Trained Holistic Therapists will be giving FREE body massage, Indian head massage and reflexology treatments for those of you looking for a relaxing treat! As well as this, a trained sports masseuse will be on hand to relieve your aching or injured muscles – just hop on the massage table and have the tension rubbed away.

Men – how about transforming yourself into the man of your woman’s dreams? Using state of the art technology, give yourself the body of her favourite sports star. You can even take home the evidence to show her!

A FREE Health Quiz will be taking place, so while your having a drink why not spend a few minutes taking part – the winner on each date will receive £50!

When you leave, take away an information pack full of tips on how to get healthy both in body and mind. There will even be information on starting a career in health and fitness.

So come along, who knows where it will take you! Health on Tour will be taking place at the following times:
12th January at Cowbridge RFC from 6.30pm onwards
19th January at Dinas Powys RFC from 6.30pm onwards
28th January at the Barry YMCA from 10.00am – 2.00pm
