Centre Dafydd Hewitt admits confidence is running high after a hat-trick of successive RaboDirect PRO12 victories - but acknowledges that a trip to the Galway Sportsground on Saturday evening will be a real test of Blues.
Hewitt was in the thick of the action in the Judgement Day II win over Scarlets last time out and was the last action try bonus hero against Edinburgh the week previous.
The 28-year-old has also celebrated signing a new contract this week at the Arms Park.
But he knows that the feel good bubble will burst if Blues are not at their very best against Connacht.
“We are on bit of a high after the three good wins against three really good sides,” he said.
“We want to continue that form hopefully in Connacht, but it is always a tough place with the conditions and everything. Hopefully go over there and get our fourth win on the bounce.
“I’m not really surprised by the turnaround in our play as we have always had the talent, the want and will to do it, but we haven’t been able to put it into practise for long spells.
“We have shown glimpses of it throughout the season; against Toulon, the back to back games against Glasgow in Europe; it’s a shame it has come this late but it’s nice to finally have that form.
“Connacht is a tough place, we have been beaten there a few times in the past, but we beat them at the start of the season and that is something we have been looking at.
“We want to finish as high as we can there is a mathematical chance of us still qualifying for the top tier of Europe next year, so that is something we are playing for.
“We know that we need other results to go our way, but we remain hopeful. You never know what might happen, we can only look after our jobs and come away with a win.”
