Harries targets crucial block of Guinness PRO14 fixtures

First Team News | 16th February 2021

Jason Harries was pleased to make a long-awaited return from injury in Friday’s friendly victory over Ospreys.

The wing made his first appearance of the season as a half time replacement, after suffering back-to-back knee injuries over the summer.

The wing was over the moon to get some game time under his belt as he targets the upcoming crucial block of Guinness PRO14 fixtures, starting with Saturday’s trip to Connacht.

“It’s been quite a while since I’ve been out on the pitch having game time,” said the former Wales Sevens international.

“But it was nice to be back and playing, and it was also nice to be back at the Arms Park as well.

“It was great to pick up the win. We’d spoken all week about this game and about picking up momentum ahead of four important games that are coming up.

“We’ve gone out and scored six tries against Ospreys, but it was great to see a lot of youngsters putting their hands up as well.

“We haven’t had much time to fit in these type of games, and as a team we haven’t played in three or four weeks.

“So to have that time against Ospreys, and it’s never a ‘friendly’ match against them’, it’s nice to have some rugby under the belt.

“It’s always nice after a big block of games to have a couple of weeks off. But before we go into another important block this game should be a big help for us.

“If there are any opportunities to get these games into the fixture list, why not?!”
