One of Wales best-loved food manufacturers, Peter's Pies, is celebrating 40 years of business in Wales with the creation of a pie named after the capital city.

To celebrate the launch of the new Cardiff Pie, Cardiff Blues are taking hundreds of the minced beef and onion pies to sample at their home game on Sunday 31st January.

Supporters can get their chance to try a free Cardiff Pie when they purchase a pint at the stadium. However, with stocks limited and demand surely to be high, supporters will need to arrive early to avoid disappointment!

Peter's pies are already a huge favourite in the Welsh capital selling more than 1 million pies annually in the city.

James Osgood, marketing director at Peter's said, "Peter's is synonymous with Wales, and we want to be equally well known in Cardiff. Launching the Cardiff Pie at the Cardiff City Stadium seems the perfect way to show our commitment to the Welsh Capital."

The Cardiff Pie is a deep filled pie containing prime cuts of minced beef with onion and encased in a light and flaky short crust pastry. The pie contains no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or MSG.

Peter's will be giving away 1,000 pies at the Cardiff City stadium during Cardiff Blues and Cardiff City games this weekend.

Blues fans will get the chance to preview their Amlin Challenge Cup Quarter Final opponents this weekend, when Newcastle Falcons visit for the LV= Cup clash. Gates open at 1.30pm, with kick off at 3pm. Get down early to the Cardiff City stadium for your chance to try the Cardiff Pie.
