Dillon Lewis to cycle length of Wales for Tenovus

First Team News | 30th April 2020

Dillon Lewis and fellow Wales star Cory Hill will swap scrum caps for saddles this weekend as they cycle the length of the country on static bikes in aid of Tenovus Cancer Care.

The Wales duo, who both grew up in Pontypridd and are close friends, will cycle 220 miles over two days from the comfort of their own homes.

It is hoped the virtual ride will raise both awareness and funds for the cancer charity who are facing even greater challenges due to Covid-19.

Tenovus Cancer Care desperately need funds to continue the support given to patients battling the disease during this time.

Dillon Lewis said: “We wanted to take on some sort of challenge and have seen the immense pressure a lot of charities are currently under with fundraising events cancelled and their services impacted by coronavirus.

“Everyone has been touched in some way by cancer so this is a great cause to support. It must be such a worrying time for those battling cancer and the staff at Tenovus do a brilliant job in the support and advice they offer.

Every pound we can raise moment is crucial, so this challenge will really help them in their time of need and we can't wait to take it on.

“While we are not training as teams any more, lots of us have been keeping fit in our own ways and we have both been doing a lot of time in the saddle.

“It is going to be really tough but we are ready and can’t wait to get started.”
