Defeat for Blues international aces

11th November 2013

Cardiff Blues international stars suffered defeat at the weekend as both Wales and Samoa lost their autumn fixtures.

Gethin Jenkins – on his 99th appearance for his country – Bradley Davies, Sam Warburton, Leigh Halfpenny, Lloyd Williams and Scott Andrews all featured for Wales.

However, they were beaten 24-15 by a clinical South Africa side in the first game of the autumn internationals at the Millennium Stadium. Halfpenny scored all the points for Wales.

Meanwhile, Blues lock Filo Paulo featured for the entire game as Samoa lost 40-9 to Ireland.

Tries from Peter O'Mahony, Sean O'Brien, Fergus McFadden and two for debutant David Kearney, together with a solid kicking display from Paddy Jackson eased new coach Joe Schmidt to a winning start.
