Clean bill of health after Blues' win

16th January 2005

There was a double celebration for the Blues after their Heineken Cup victory over Ulster as no further injuries were reported.

Tries by Jonny Vaughton and Rhys Thomas and six points from the boot of Nick Macleod edged out Ulster and provided a much-needed boost ahead of two vital Celtic League matches.

Director of coaching David Young said, "We didn't play particularly well but the team showed great determination and the win was something they thoroughly deserved. The added bonus is that none of the players involved picked up new injuries so we will at least be able to call on them again next week."

Young also confirmed that Maama Molitika was expected to join the squad on a short-term contract this week, covering for Dan Baugh and James Malpas, both of whom are unlikely to play in the immediate future. Centre Jonny Bryant is also available for selection next week.
