Cardiff Blues Ultimate XV | Second-row (middle)

First Team News | 3rd April 2020

Yesterday you picked Macauley Cook in your Ultimate XV but who will join him in your dream second-row?

Seb Davies (2014-present | 68 appearances | 5 tries | 7 caps for Wales)

Seb Davies enjoyed a rapid rise in the early stages of his career which saw him selected for Wales in 2016/17 despite limited experience on the regional scene. An athletic and skilful lock, Davies established himself as a key component of the Cardiff Blues side in 2017/18, and perhaps his highlight contribution was setting up Gareth Anscombe for his side’s only try in the Challenge Cup semi-final victory over Pau.

Rob Sidoli (2004-2008 | 76 appearances | 1 tries | 42 caps for Wales)

Rob Sidoli joined Cardiff Blues from Celtic Warriors in 2004 and went on to spend four seasons at the Welsh capital. The 42-times capped international played every game of Wales’ 2005 Grand Slam-winning campaign and provided a real aerial presence at set pieces.

Paul Tito (2007-2012 | 124 appearances | 3 tries)

After arriving at the Welsh capital from Hurricanes in 2007, former New Zealand Maori, Paul Tito, quickly became a cult hero amongst the Arms Park faithful. ‘Fish’ became a key leader within the squad and skippered the region to EDF Energy Cup and Amlin Cup success and was influential to a host of academy graduates coming through the ranks at the Arms Park.

Josh Turnbull (2014-present | 135 appearances | 15 tries | 10 caps for Wales)

Josh Turnbull arrived at the Welsh capital in 2014, with 119 appearances under his belt for his home region. The utility forward has been Mr Dependable since the switch, scooping up the Peter Thomas Player of the Season award in 2016. He provides grit into the pack, and is capable of producing big hits at key moments, and has managed a rare achievement of making more than 100 appearances for two regions.

Scott Morgan (2006-2010 | 89 appearances | 3 tries | 1 caps for Wales)

Scott Morgan was able to play in the second row or back row and won his solitary cap for Wales against Australia in 2007. The 6ft 6in forward joined Cardiff Blues from Leeds Tykes in 2006, and averaged more than 22 games for the region during his four-year stint. He scored a memorable try on his debut for Wales’ Capital Region against Munster, running in from 30 meters.
