Cardiff Blues supporters strip off... to reveal new playing strip

20th July 2013

There was a surprise in store for Cardiff Blues supporters on Saturday as dozens of dancers stripped off in the Hayes to reveal the new playing strip

The new shirt was seen for the first time in a flash mob arranged by Debbie Chapman Dancers outside John Lewis and St David’s 2 at the Hayes, Cardiff.

Shoppers were joined by Blues stars Rhys Patchell, Matthew Rees, Dan Fish, Fau Filise and Harry Robinson who were all taken by surprise as the flash mob started to undress as the music started, to reveal the new hooped Blues shirt.
Cardiff Blues Radio partner Capital FM was present playing some of the latest tracks and running competitions and it was another scorching afternoon in Cardiff. There was plenty of entertainment with stilt walkers and acro balancing acts all performing for the crowd.

Official partner’s Nando’s also have a great offer; supporters who wear their new Cardiff Blues shirt to one of the three Nando’s restaurants in Cardiff will get a 20% discount on their meal, this weekend only, 20th and 21st July.

Speaking at the event Cardiff Blues outside half Rhys Patchell said,

“The flash mob was a real surprise but I thought it was excellent and everyone seemed to love it.”
“It’s great so see so many supporters down here enjoying the activities and the new shirt seems to be a real hit with supporters.”

The new Cardiff Blues shirt is available to purchase from the Cardiff Blues stand and store this weekend only, with shirts starting at just £40.99, before being sold online from Sunday evening.
