Cardiff Blues Stars Parti On

5th July 2006

Cardiff Blues kicked off their summer tour around the region with the two day Parti Ponty at Ynysangharad Park.

It was a successful weekend for the Blues, with young fans enjoying the organised rugby coaching, collecting giveaways and taking the chance to meet first team players such as Gethin Jenkins, Marc Stcherbina, Robert Sidoli and Rhys Williams.

Building upon a similar schedule last summer, the Blues have added even more events to the calendar this year, including Parti Ponty, the Big Cheese Festival and shows in Merhyr, Vale of Glamorgan and RCT.

However, events such as the Royal Welsh Show, Tesco Children's Festival and Cardiff Blues Family Fun Day at the Arms Park have proven to be the annual favourites for supporters, coaches and players alike.

The fun day will see the launch of the new Cardiff Blues kit for next season. There will be lots to keep supporters entertained with rugby coaching, magicians, a climbing wall and assault courses, rugby, cricket and football coaching, the player of the season awards as well as Army tanks, a WRC rally car and other attractions.

Players will be attending each of the events, so you can get up close with them, collect autographs and pose a few questions. Young supporters can guarantee their seat at every Cardiff Blues game at the Arms Park by purchasing a season ticket from just £30.

Director of coaching Dai Young said, "The summer events are very important to us as it gives an excellent opportunity for our players to meet up with the fans and thank them for all the support we have received over the season.

"The fun day is always a highlight in the calendar and a great day out for the family.

"This year's event should be especially entertaining with Xavier Rush receiving a well-earned player of the Year Award from the Supporters' Club."
