Hundreds of supporters turned up at the Cardiff City Stadium last night to enjoy the first Season Ticket Holders' social evening at the new stadium.

The evening started for many with a behind the scene tour of the stadium where supporters were able to go inside the Cardiff Blues changing room and see for themselves where the players get ready for matches before walking down the tunnel onto the state of the art pitch. They then moved onto the Media Room before moving onto main activities at the Level 4 Lounge Bar.

The whole Cardiff Blues squad were in attendance and supporters were able to meet their favourite players, pose for photos and collect autographs. A special question and answer session was also held with Blues stars, Gareth Williams, Paul Tito, Casey Laula and Andries Pretorius taking part. Andries revealed to the assembled crowd why he is nicknamed Dave by the squad while Blues Director of Rugby, David Young, also revealed who were the best and worst trainers in the squad as well as giving an insight into the aims for next season.

A number of supporters entered the draw to win some superb prizes including two tickets to watch the Stereophonics at the Cardiff City Stadium and a table for four in the Cardiff Blues Premier Restaurant to include a two course meal at the Cardiff Blues v Ulster match.

Hundreds of supporters also took the chance to renew their season tickets for next season with many taking advantage of the early bird deadline. Supporters who renew before the 31st of May will receive £15 off the new 2010/11 shirt.

The Blues have also introduced a new scheme where if a current season ticket holder introduces an adult friend to be a new season ticket holder they will both have £25 gift voucher from John Lewis.

Speaking of the event Cardiff Blues Marketing Officer, Annabelle Harries said,

"We've been really pleased with the how the night went. We had great support with hundreds of season tickets holders turning up and a lot of positive feedback."

"A number of supporters have said how pleased they are that we are listening to them and will be renewing their season tickets for next year."

"It was an evening for people to find out a bit more about the season ticket options for next season as well as enjoying a social event with the Cardiff Blues players."
