Cardiff Blues Rugby Education Course

22nd January 2015

Cardiff Blues are proud to announce a new and exciting education programme aimed at post 16 studies for September 2015, in conjunction with our Official Partner Schools and TVS Education.

The course will provide lots of positive opportunities and pathways to ensure maximum engagement and achievement for students.

Students who take part will undertake a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport, which is equivalent to 3 A-Levels, and a Technical Rugby Programme. The Technical Rugby element is a course of practical rugby coaching delivery, coach education and mentoring.

The new programme will give students an exclusive opportunity to gain valuable work based learning experience through the Cardiff Blues community programme. Students will play in a 10-a-side intra-regional games competition on a regular basis. All whilst gaining qualifications for University.

This course is perfect for those who are keen on seeking further education and enjoy sports.
Courses will be run from official partner schools across the region, known as Cardiff Blues Rugby Education Performance Centres. As part of our commitment to the community and to the region, we are looking to partner with at least one school in each of the authorities across the region.

Speaking about the new programme Cardiff Blues Community Manager, Nadine Griffiths said, “This is a really exciting time for us, allowing us to form crucial relationships with schools across the Blues Region.

“This course allows pupils a chance to gain invaluable vocational experience in the sports industry alongside their studies, as well as representing their school in regular 10-a-side fixtures against the other Official Partner Schools.”
