Cardiff Blues take the field at the Arms Park for the first time this evening when they entertain Leicester Tigers in the bmibaby Challenge Cup match (kick-off 7.05pm). Coach David Young has announced a 22-man Blues squad, led in Martyn Williams absence by Andrew Lewis.

Cardiff RFC began their pre-season with a fifty point victory against Rumney. The game was used to blood a number of young players and was described as a successful start to the campaign by Mike Rayer. The final score was Rumney 12 Cardiff 64. The second Cardiff pre-season friendly is against Glamorgan Wanderers on Saturday August 30th, kick off is midday. www.cardiffrfc.co.uk
