Cardiff Blues kit supporters out after luggage lost

13th January 2017

Losing your luggage is a nightmare at the best of times - even worse when you have travelled more than 900 miles to support your team in freezing temperatures.

But that is exactly what happened to Cardiff Blues Supporters’ Club treasurer Catherine Smarth and Justin who were with a group pf fans who made the trip to the foot of the Pyrenees on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s European Challenge Cup clash with Pau.

Thankfully the Cardiff Blues team and management were not jetting to France until Friday and were more than happy to answer the SOS and kit the dedicated supporters out.

Catherine said: “We can’t believe the lengths Richard (Holland) and the Cardiff Blues team went after our luggage failed to arrive in Pau.

“Richard contacted us via Cardiff Blues Supporters’ Club immediately offering to bring match-day attire over for us.

“We are overwhelmed by their generosity and consideration – we can’t thank them enough.”

Cardiff Blues CEO Richard Holland added: “We heard what had happened and were delighted to help out by giving them a few items from our club shop.

“We are fortunate to have some superb supporters at Cardiff Blues and appreciate both the effort and financial sacrifice they make to cheer us on away from home.

“It means a huge amount to the players and this is just a small gesture to make sure they are kitted out and warm on what will be a chilly evening in Pau.”
