Cardiff Blues confirm departures as 2020/21 draws to a close

With the 2020-21 season now complete, Cardiff Rugby can confirm the players and staff leaving the club.

Ethan Lewis - The hooker joined Saracens on loan earlier this season and is now out of contract at the Arms Park. Since making his debut in 2015, the 27-year-old has made 60 appearances for his home region.

Ioan Davies - The former Wales Under-20s full-back informed Cardiff Blues of his decision not to renew earlier in the season and was therefore released to the Dragons for the remainder of the season.

Ioan Rhys Davies - Following the expiry of his academy contract, the back-row forward as secured a move to France ahead of the new season. The Wales under-20 international came through the club’s pathway and made one senior appearance in the 2018 clash against Uruguay.

Ben Warren - Another academy member and Wales under-20 international departing the club is prop Warren, who will move to Ospreys for the 2021/22 campaign.

Robin Sowden-Taylor - The former Wales international draws a close to almost 20 years with Cardiff and Cardiff Blues, both as a player and strength and conditioning coach. Sowden-Taylor has resigned from his position of Head of Strength and Conditioning to take opportunities out of rugby and focus on his business, Ion Strength and Conditioning.

Gruff Parsons -  Gruff Parsons has resigned from his position as Senior Physiotherapist after being appointed Head of Medical at a club closer to his London home. 

Ryan Crosby, Connor Guerin, Connor McIntosh, Zoe Mountjoy and Lauren Huxtable spent the season working at the club as interns in the analysis, strength and conditioning and medical departments.
