Boss: We must right wrongs against Treviso

18th March 2016

Head Coach Danny Wilson admitted dreams of a top six finish in the Guinness PRO12 were still very alive after a bonus point win over Munster Rugby - but vowed the team would be looking no further than Benetton Treviso next Friday.

Cardiff Blues produced a stunning second half display to stun Munster with man-of-the-match Rhys Patchell racing over for the bonus point try.

It moved the team level with Ospreys and four points off the top six – but Wilson admitted righting wrongs against Treviso would be at the forefront of the player’s minds.

“We’ve got Treviso at home next week and that is a big game for us,” he said. “We’ve got to look at those two games coming up with Scarlets the week after, but first and foremost we concentrate on Treviso at home.

“We lost over in Italy and we want to put that right. We have an opportunity to do that next week.

“It’s such a tight league, as we all know, and it is still realistic to achieve the top six,” he added.

“It is going to take a lot and a huge number of wins going in and some results going our way.

“We know we are level with Ospreys and if we can get above them, and we have still got to face them at the Principality Stadium in weeks to come, then it would be a fantastic achievement for this season.

“But we are not looking past Treviso next week. That has been our attitude going into this week, one game at a time, and it will be the same next week.”
