Blues Team To Play Dragons

11th June 2003

The Cardiff Blues team to play Gwent Dragons on Friday evening (7.05pm) will be led by lock Andy Moore.

Also included in a team showing seven changes in personnel from last week’s fixture in Belfast are full back Donavan van Vuuren, who has recovered from a hip injury, and centre Nick Walne, missing last week because of a dead leg.

Craig Morgan switches from full back to wing, while Gareth Williams and Ben Evans return to the front row and Robin Sowden-Taylor plays at flanker.

Craig Quinnell has a torn hamstring so Jim Brownrigg starts at lock. Matt Allen has influenza.

Not available for selection are Dean Dewdney, Richard Smith and Rhys Thomas, all long-term injuries, plus Andrew Lewis (head injury), Nick Macleod (knee), James Malpas (shoulder), Pieter Muller (ankle), Jonny Vaughton (hip), Darren Crompton, Allen and Quinnell.

Four others - Iestyn Harris, Tom Shanklin, Martyn Williams and Rhys Williams - are on Rugby World Cup duty with Wales.

Heino Senekal returns from Namibia this week.
