Cardiff Blues will host the European Champions Munster in their opening game of the new Magners League.
Commenting on today's news about Magners League, Robert Norster Cardiff Blues Chief Executive said,
Our opening fixture affords us the privilege of entertaining last season's champions of Europe, Munster. Following that mouth-watering prospect, each and every weekend of the 22 weekend competition will be no different with every side capable of beating the other on its day.
"All the Welsh Regions will I'm certain be looking to build on the strong attendances of last season, particularly so with our Welsh derby matches.
"The news that Magners will sponsor our Celtic competition until 2008, is a great step forward and fillip for us all. Our league has grown year on year and is today a very competitive environment that has already seen winners emerge from both Ireland and Wales and with the recent positive announcements in Scotland, things are looking to go from strength to strength.
"The league now offers a transparent level of competition and we can build a collective strength together with our new partner. Having such a major brand as Magners behind us who have themselves already enjoyed considerable growth gives us all a real impetus into next season and beyond.
