Blues North and South aim for final spot

24th November 2008

Blues North and South will be looking to stay on course for a place in the final of the WRU Age Grade Championship tomorrow (Tuesday 25 November) when they take on the Dragons and the Ospreys.

The North have lost their last two games, but are still in with a good chance of qualifying whilst the South’s defeat of the North last time out, has kept them in the hunt too.

The South entertain a Dragons side who went down to North Wales last week, but who will provide stern opposition at Taffs Well. Tries from Matt Roberts and JB Bruziller earned the South a 21-6 victory over the Dragons two months ago with Rhys Patchell helping himself to 11 points.

Meanwhile the Ospreys, who were 22-14 winners over the Dragons in their last game, will be no pushovers for a North side who were 46-27 winners when the sides met earlier in the season.

Victory for the home side is a must if they are to keep alive their feint hopes of reaching the final, whilst for the North, a sixth victory of the season would put them in with a wonderful chance of another final appearance.

On Wednesday, it’s the turn of the under 18s with the Dragons taking on the Ospreys at Newbridge.
