Arms Park shines in European final epic

One of Europe's greatest sporting weekends is underway as a packed house at the BT Sports Cardiff Arms Park witnessed Northampton Saints defeat Bath Rugby 30-16 in a gripping and historic Amlin Challenge Cup final at the home of the Blues.

Fans from all over Europe have been flocking to the Welsh capital to savour a unique celebration of club rugby.

And that kicked off with an all-English Amlin Challenge Cup confrontation featuring Bath Rugby and Northampton Saints.

The game was a first major rugby final on an artificial pitch and saw Saints clinch a third European title at the Arms Park.

A galaxy of international stars will now take centre stage at the atmospheric Millennium Stadium for Saturday’s Heineken Cup decider between RC Toulon and Saracens.

Both matches - which feature players from as many as 15 nations including luminaries of the global game - will be broadcast in more than 150 countries as the world watches the home of the Blues and the Millennium Stadium shine in the global spotlight.
