Adams ready to take on the Boks after emotional rollercoaster

Following the birth of his daughter, Lottie, last week, Josh Adams admits it’s been an emotional week in South Africa as focus now turns to the first of three Tests against Springboks in Cape Town.

After withdrawing from the mid-week encounter against South Africa A to witness the birth of his daughter, the wing was back in Lions action as Warren Gatland's side took on DHL Stormers in the final warm-up clash before their three-match series against Springboks.

Having crossed for eight tries in four outings in the iconic Lions jersey, Adams hopes he’s done enough to secure a place in Warren Gatland’s Test team, as he reflects on an unforgettable week on a personal level.

"I was a bit emotional and it has been hard to be honest,” said the Cardiff star, speaking to S4C.

"I spoke to them before coming here to play.

"I had to keep my emotions under wraps. It was a different experience (watching the birth over Zoom) but it was something I had to do.

"I had to watch it happening. It's something huge in my life and in Georgia's life as well, so I was never going to miss the opportunity to watch it.

"It would be really nice for me and the family [to play in the Tests].

"I've come out here knowing the sacrifice I was making, so it would be really nice if I could get a game in the three Tests.
