A Capital Day Out to Wiltshire

20th June 2003

Capital Rugby spread its wings recently when five schools from Cardiff and the Vale represented the region in that Tag Rugby festival in Calne, Wiltshire.

Capital Rugby’s John Huw Williams said: “it was a great honour for us to be invited to take part in the event at the Springfields School and everyone enjoyed their day.”

The five schools who took part were Gwenfo, Murch, Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, Ysgol Melin Gruffyd and Ysgol Pen-y-Garth.

“It was a lovely day,” added Williams. “With all the matches taking place against a backdrop or the rolling hills of the White Horse. All the schools did well and we were well represented in both semi-finals.

“In fact the final was an all Welsh affair with the pupils of Murch and Ysgol Pen-y-Garth impressing everyone with their all-round skills and pace.

“All in all the festival was a fine advertisement for Capital Rugby, and of course, the five schools.”
