Cardiff Blues name Under-16s squad

6th March 2017

Cardiff Blues U16 have named their 32-man squad for the forthcoming U16 Easter tournament, combining the best of Cardiff Blues North and South.

Both Blues sides enjoyed a successful campaign in the WRU’s Regional Age Grade Championship, which climaxed as Blues North defeated their South counterparts 20-17 at Merthyr RFC in difficult conditions last week.

The squad contains 17 members from Blues North and 15 members from Blues South.

Cardiff Blues’ Elite Performance Pathway Manager, Richard Hodges, said: “Following two promising campaigns in the Age grade Championship, these boys are now entering the next stage of our player pathway, and it will be an exciting period for them.

“Both sides have impressed over the last few months, and it was a difficult choice to narrow the squad down to 32 individuals.”

Cardiff Blues Under-16s will kick-off their campaign on April 14th before playing on April 18th and 22nd against their regional counterparts.
