Jenkins to captain Wales in Springboks clash

24th November 2016

Cardiff Blues' Gethin Jenkins will captain Wales against South Africa on Saturday as they bring their autumn test series to a close.

Jenkins, who has led Wales in every match he has started this campaign, lines up in the front row alongside Ken Owens and Tomas Francis.

The Springboks clash will mark the prop’s 129th cap for Wales.

Meanwhile, Sam Warburton has been ruled out of the clash after suffering a minor injury in training on Tuesday, with Ospreys' Dan Lydia taking his place in the back-row alongside Justin Tipuric and Ross Moriarty.

Lloyd Williams has been named on the replacements bench.

“We were pleased with the win against Argentina so have gone with virtually the same team for South Africa,” said head coach Rob Howley.

“We’ve made just one change in the back-row. Sam (Warburton) picked up a bit of a stinger injury on Tuesday and isn’t quite ready so Dan comes in."
