Craig wins with Guinness and Cardiff Blues

16th February 2016

Season Ticket holder Craig Khan admitted he had a 'dream day' with Cardiff Blues after winning a competition from league sponsors Guinness to present the man-of-the-match at our recent home fixture with Edinburgh Rugby.

Cardiff Blues ran a special competition - open to all Season Ticket holders - the week of the game to correctly name the Cardiff Blues leading try scorer in the Guinness PRO12.

Hundreds of fans entered and lucky winner Craig Khan from Treherbert was randomly selected to win the prize; that included pre-match hospitality including food and seats in the Director’s Box at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.

Craig also got to go on the pitch and in front of the TV cameras to present to Guinness man-of-the-match award to Manoa Vosawai at full-time to complete a memorable day out.

“It was a big surprise to get a call on the day of the game to say I had won,” admitted Craig. “I thought I’d try my luck and the next thing you know I was presenting the man-of-the-match for Guinness.

“I had a dream day and enjoyed hospitality with my wife Frances and got the chance to meet some former players like Rhys Williams and Xavier Rush.

“It was a bit nerve-wracking to go on the pitch at full-time and present the award to Manoa – he was great though even if I did shake his hand after he hurt his shoulder!

“It’s my first year as a Season Ticket holder at Cardiff Blues and I normally stand on the South Terrace. It’s certainly paid off with his prize and I had a great day out thanks to Guinness and Cardiff Blues.”

Rhys Williams, Commercial Director at Cardiff Blues, said: “We were delighted to offer this special competition prize to present man-of-the-match on behalf of Guinness.

“We’re thrilled that Craig and his wife had such a great day out with us and look forward to offering this kind of unique and memorable competition prize to our Season Ticket holders again in the future.”
