Allen ruled out of Rugby World Cup

21st September 2015

Cardiff Blues centre Cory Allen has been released from Wales' Rugby World Cup squad with a hamstring injury.

Allen, who marked his World Cup debut with a hat-trick against Uruguay yesterday (Sunday) suffered the injury in the game and will be replaced by Newport Gwent Dragons centre Tyler Morgan.

“It’s disappointing to lose Cory in this way, especially following his man-of-the-match display against Uruguay," said Warren Gatland. “Tyler was part of the our extended squad and trained very well and will link up with us in London.”

Everyone at Cardiff Blues wishes Cory the best of luck with his rehabilitation and we look forward to seeing him back out on the field for our region soon.
