Flanker Sam Warburton urged Cardiff Blues to keep grinding out the results in a bid to climb the Guinness PRO12 table after a crucial derby day success over Newport Gwent Dragons.
Welsh ace Warburton returned to the starting line-up and was a prominent figure at Rodney Parade as Blues edged a pulsating derby match 11-9 on New Year’s Day.
Champions Leinster Rugby are next up for Blues on Saturday January 10 at BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park.
And Warburton admitted it was crucial Blues now looked to keep securing positive results in a bid to climb the table and make the top six.
"We've got Leinster at home, which is tough next up in 10 days' time, and then into European rugby,” he said.
“We won't have another Pro12 game for a few weeks after that, so it's quite important we win that next one and we'll edge closer to that top six then.
"I think there's still a bit of a gap off that sixth place, we've still got to get some results.
“But looking at the three Christmas derbies, it's two out of three wins for us, which isn't bad and something to build upon.”
Warburton hailed the massive derby atmosphere at Rodney Parade and admitted he had enjoyed experience.
"That was a proper derby game,” he added. “It was very close, really hotly contested at the breakdown and it's been pretty similar over the last two weeks.
"They're great games to play and the crowd was fantastic here at Rodney Parade and made a lot of noise. With a lot of friends on the opposition they're great Christmas derbies to play in."
