Scrum half Jones targets winning Rabo run

14th February 2014

Scrum half Lewis Jones admits the next three league games are 'hugely important' for Cardiff Blues - kicking off with the home clash with Glasgow Warriors at the Arms Park on Saturday evening (kick-off 6.30pm).

Blues face Glasgow under the floodlights in the RaboDirect PRO12 before a home clash with Leinster Rugby next week and trip to Zebre over a crucial three-week period.

Jones, who last week became the youngest player ever to reach 50 caps for the region, acknowledges the importance of this period in the season.

And first up is a Glasgow team that needs little introduction with the teams having faced off three times already this season in the league and Heineken Cup.

“Glasgow are a physical team that like to run with flare,” said Jones. “They are strong up front and a back line that like to play.Hopefully there will be a good crowd at the Arms Park and they can help carry us on home.”

“We take each game as it comes at the moment and our aim is to get into the top six,” he added.

“The next few games are a hugely important. We will be facing some tough sides over the coming weeks and with the internationals out we have a good core squad here.

“Hopefully we will be able to target these next three games as wins so that we can re-evaluate our goals.”
