Super fan Thomas lifts LV=Cup

25th November 2013

Super supporter Thomas Burgess-Hunt was the lucky Cardiff Blues fan who got his hands on the LV=Cup when he took over the region's captaincy duties at the launch of this season's competition.

The six-year-old, who attends Oakfield Primary School in St. Mellons, was the lucky winner of an LV=Cup competition to represent Blues at the launch at Sandy Park in Exeter. Thomas was picked after his family explained in 150 words why he deserved to represent the Blues.

Thomas, who plays rugby for Llanishen RFC under-eights,  got to pose with the trophy alongside his fellow fans and spend time with Blues back row Ellis Jenkins and LV=Cup ambassador Lewis Moody.

His mother Sian Burgess-Hunt said: “Thomas is a huge fan and lives for the weekend to cheer on the Blues at Cardiff Arms Park. His favourite player is Leigh Halfpenny and strongly believes one day he will put in the number 15 shirt for Cardiff Blues and Wales.

“He had a fantastic day at Sandy Park which was topped off by a one to one training session with Lewis Moody.”

Congratulations to Thomas from everyone at Cardiff Blues! We look forward to seeing you pull on the No.15 jersey in the years to come!
