Scott Morgan breaks hand in Pontypridd match

9th August 2007

Despite a positive win over Pontypridd last night Cardiff Blues were dealt a blow with the news this morning that Scott Morgan broke a bone in his hand in last night’s encounter.

Speaking on cardiffblues.com Scott was naturally disappointed with the news

“The team physio sent me to have an x-ray this morning and they confirmed at the hospital that I’ve broken a bone in my hand. It is a blow, but I’ve just got to get my head down and work hard,” said Morgan.

“The hand won’t be put in plaster so I’ll still be able to train which is good. I’ll have to go to back in three weeks time to have it re x-rayed and if all’s well I’ll only be out of action for between three to six weeks in total. It looks like I’ll miss the Ospreys game but it is possible I could be back for the Dragons match depending on what the second x-ray shows.”

Despite the injury Scott was pleased with how the team performed last night.

“I think from the Blues point of view it was good to put some of the patterns and structures together. I think it gave a clear indication on areas we have to work on. The forwards carried the ball a lot more so there were many positives for the squad to take out of the match.”
