Blues pipped at the death

23rd January 2004

The Blues shook Leinster Lions and Lansdowne Road to their foundations as they came back from 14 points down to draw level throughout a pulsating second half, before losing to an 80th minute penalty goal.

Afterwards Heineken man-of-the-match Martyn Williams admitted his team were disappointed but added,

"We are slowly getting there as a team, all we need is a bit of patience. We are definitely progressing - what we must learn to do is win these games we are losing by one late score."
