New rugby development coaches are spreading rugby education throughout the expanded Blues region. A partnership between the WRU, Cardiff Blues and private business has made possible this provision of coaching to help nurture the rugby stars of the future.

In his new regional rugby development role, Dale McIntosh is working with juniors across Rhonda Cynon Taff and South Powys. Today Dale reports on a recent session,

"Last Monday we had the overwhelming pleasure of the GINGER MONSTER. Former Cardiff and Pontypridd star Neil Jenkins answered my beckoning call to hold a kicking class for Mid Glam Blues U’16s and the not so older familiar face of P.R.F.C., outside half, Dai Flannagan."

The class proved to be more than appreciated as kids from Builth Wells took half a day off school to attend the session. Also even more appreciative were the parents who decided they weren’t letting this opportunity slip through their grasps and videoed the whole session.

"Jenks intends to co-ordinate a kicking school of excellence along the same lines as England’s Dave Aldridge only much more hands on and hopefully a touch cheaper.

"The concept is tremendous and who better to learn from but the master himself. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the class but more importantly benefited from his experience immensely. I know we’d all like to wish Neil all the very best in his new venture. CHEERS BRO!"
