Rob Appleyard will play in the back row for the Blues against Sale Sharks at Cardiff Arms Park tomorrow.
With Jim Brownrigg unavailable through illness, Appleyard steps up for his first start since the Celtic League match against the Dragons last November. Robin Sowden-Taylor is added to the replacements' bench in the only other change to the 22 players on duty during the last three weeks of European competition.
