Cardiff Blues face Worcester Warriors

10th August 2012

The Blues will take on the Warriors this Saturday, 2:30pm kick off

Cardiff Blues played their first friendly last Saturday with an impressive win against the Toyta Cheetahs.

Speaking about the match, Director of Rugby, Phil Davies said,

“The squad returned from South Africa on Monday after what was a very constructive trip.”

“We held seven sessions in ten days and we achieved exactly what we set out to do, which was to transfer our performances from the training field to match days.”

“The game showed lots of evidence of the systems we had been working on during the week.”

“As a group we were very pleased with that fact, along with the victory we gained against a strong Cheetahs side.”

Tickets for the Cardiff Blues v Worcester Warriors match start from £12 for adults, £8 seniors, £5 students and only £1 for juniors! Your match day ticket will also include access to the Cardiff RFC v London Scottish, which kicks off at after the Blues v Worriers match, 5:30pm.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s match Phil added,

“It’s also nice to be playing against Worcester as I really enjoyed my two years there and made some great friends.”

“It will be nice to see some familiar faces. I know, having spoken to Richard Hill, that both teams will be using a number of players and trying out different combinations.”

“We picked up one or two minor injuries in South Africa; therefore, we will bring in three new players in addition to the SA touring party.’

“We want to perform and play with passion and determination in every game. If you do this, you will always have an opportunity to win games, Worcester will be a hard test for us, as will our matches against Gloucester and Bath.”
